Tick.....Tick......Tick

In less than an hour I have to be out of here and on the Picket Line. Do I really want to go out? No, but I and many others feel like we are being short changed. We are ok with what we had in the last contract. All we ask is that things remain the same. Crying poor, and then posting record profits don't really cut the mustard. We're the ones out in the rain, in the cold, the heat, the Mosquitos. Just because they can't see past their quarterly earnings statement, don't take out of my pocket.

tick.....tick......tick

I will walk out, join the line, and stand up for what I believe in. Who gets hurt in all of this? Me, and I know that. My family will suffer too. The thing is sometimes you have to stand up for something. Look around you, how many family wage jobs are really left in this country? We won WWII because of our manufacturing capablity, not because of tactics. We were able to mass produce tanks, ships, guns, and etc. We don't have that capability anymore....but China does.

Think about that, the next time you walk into Wal-Mart.

tick....tick....tick

Time is slowly ticking away, it's getting down to the wire. I am given no choice. This is what they have driven us to do.

I'll be back when I can.................

I'm sorry to hear about you having to strike. Hubby's plant is doing layoffs, they don't seem to think of the little guy. I'm glad you are standing up for what you believe in. I know it would be easy to just cave and deal with it, but sometimes you just have to take a stand. Hopefully, it will be resolved quickly. I'll be thinking of you and your family. Good luck.

I'm sorry about this Tall Molly Guy. I do trust your decision and I'm sure you family does too.

You don't have the internet at home? Well, I guess if you do, you couldn't really blog about private things...

*sigh*

Take care ok?

Our school district is currently on strike...what a pain in the ass! Not sure what your line of work is? I'm sure there is a valid reason for your strike other than greed? With the teacher strike here -GREED is the only reason -which is really a shame. I personally don't think teachers should be able to strike. This is an uppidy school district where the AVERAGE teacher salary is $79,000 a year. Other teachers would kill for a job and the salary in this district. This isn't a school with gangs, metal detectors, parents who are not involved and crime. This is middle/upper class suburbia and these teachers feel they are underpaid and overworked. Who suffers in this? THE KIDS. I'm just not sure a strike for any industry is the answer?
